There is easy way how to transform your bare wood front door to any colour you like.
Today we are going to be using oil based paints.
You will need:

  • Remove handle, lock, letterbox, remove as much you can.
  • Fill any holes or small cracks with wooden filler.
  • Sand your door with sanding paper to get rid of old paint or any dirt.
  • Clean door with methylated spirit to get rid of any grease.
  • Apply washin tape, This goes on the edges of your door knob, the door’s windows, hinges and any other details you want to protect from paint.
  • Apply one coat of aluminium wood primer, let 12-16 hrs to dry.
  • Apply one coat of undercoat, let 12-16 hrs to dry.
  • Apply two coats of top coat, let at least 12 hrs between each coat.
  • Finally remove all masking tape, and put back your handle, all you had to remove at the beginning.

Make sure you use grey undercoat for darker colours and white or same colour undercoat for brighter colours.
